Bibee finally get first win
Tanner Bibee can let out a long breath of relief. The waiting is over.
He finally got a win. Bibee went eight scoreless innings, and Jose Ramirez and Brayan Rocchio both homered as the Guardians shut out Texas, 6-0, on June 6. It was the first win of the year for Bibee, who started out the season failing to record a victory in his first 13 starts. The 13 starts without a win was longest such a streak to start a season in franchise history
Bibee allowed three hits, struck out three, and walked two. Tim Herrin pitched the ninth.
Ramirez's solo home run in the fourth inning, his 10th of the year, broke a scoreless tie. It’s the 11th season of his career that Ramirez has hit 10 or more home runs.
It was a nice bounce-back win for Cleveland, which had lost its previous games by one run, including on June 5 when they blew a 2-0 lead with Parker Messick on the mound in a 3-2 loss to Texas.
Cleveland improved to 37-29 on the year.
