Guards pick up win over Angels

Joey Cantillo pitched six innings of shutout baseball, and the Cleveland Guardians took advantage of a weak Los Angeles bullpen in a 7-2 win on May 11 at Progressive Field.
Cantillo scattered five hits and struck out four as the Guardians improved to 22-21.
Travis Bazzana drove in a pair of runs with a two-run double in the Guadians five run third inning.
Los Angeles used pitchers from its bullpen for the entire game, and the result was not pretty. Angels’ pitchers walked 10 Cleveland hitters.
Kyle Manzardo had two hits and scored two runs, and David Fry collected a pair of hits and scored a run and drove in a run for Cleveland, which snapped a two-game losing streak.
Daniel Schneeman had the big blow of the game. His bloop double with the bases loaded in the third inning drove in two runs and gave the Guardians a 5-0 lead.
The Angels fell to 16-26 with the loss.
