Guardians slip past KC

The Guardians inched back over the .500 mark on May 7 with an 8-5 win over Kansas City.

The win moved the Guardians' record to 20-19. They are just one of three teams in the American League with a winning record.
The Guardians jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a first-inning two-run double off the bat of Kyle Manzardo.
Slade Cecconi got the win for the Guardians. Bo Naylor added a big 3-run home run late to give the Guardians some much-needed breathing room. Cade Smith pitched the ninth for the 10th save. Erik Sabrowski also pitched and picked up his 15th hold. The 6-foot-4,  230-pound Sabrowski has been a lifesaver in the first quarter of the year. He’s struck out 27 hitters in just 16 1/3 innings across 19 appearances.
The Guardians open a 3-game homestand tonight against the Twins.
